Reframing My Career Compass in the Age of AI

When someone asks what I do for work, I watch their eyes glaze over as I stumble through explaining my role as a "designer in tech." It's a completely reasonable question, yet one that consistently sends my brain into a spiral.

Since pivoting from architecture to tech four years ago, my title has changed multiple times: from Design Researcher to UX/UI Designer, Product Designer, and now Digital Product Designer & Strategist. As my end-of-financial-year review approaches, I've been spiralling into deep career reflection, trying to understand why I still find it so hard to explain what I do to others and to myself.
